Following a disappointing start to the campaign which saw six defeats in all competitions and only 4 goals The Knitters will be hoping they have turned the corner after avoiding defeat in their last 2 games whilst also finding their scoring boots. A 4-4 draw away at Lye Town a fortnight ago was followed up with a 4-1 victory last saturday over Worcester City in the FA Trophy. The returning Michael Armstrong played a part in 6 of those 8 goals scoring 5, including a hat-trick at Worcester and turning provider for Ben Humphreys header.
Sporting Khalsa meanwhile started the season in fine form going unbeaten in their opening five games in all competitions, winning four and progressing in the FA Cup however a league defeat to Racing Club Warwick and a FA Cup first qualifying round defeat to Basford United may have halted their momentum. Last time out they got back to winning ways defeating fellow NPL Midlands Coventry Sphinx in the FA Trophy.
Hinckley will travel to the Guardian Warehousing Arena knowing it hasn't been a happy hunting ground since promotion to step 4 yielding two consecutive 3-1 defeats in our two trips there, however manager Neil Lyne will be hoping to build on the previous two games as his side will be looking for their first 3 points of the season.
