Hinckley were out for revenge against the side that had beaten them at Leicester Road earlier in the year and scored the only goal in a game lacking of any real quality. Tendai Daire’s 24th minute free kick was the difference between to the two sides in a game that had little in the way of goal mouth action.
Will Highland was forced into action with an early save but Hinckley sprung into life when Liam Read was slipped in but fired high and wide and Hinckley were soon ahead when Tendai Daire who won the free kick fired home through the wall from 20 yards bagging his 20th goal in all competitions.
Shepshed had two chances to get back on level terms before half time first forcing a fantastic top corner save out of Highland, then moments later an open goal went begging when Shepshed fired over.
The second half was a scrappy affair and Hinckley had a chance to seal the points 10 minutes from time, when Read was played in and touched the ball beyond the goal keeper but wide of the post. Shepshed piled on the pressure in the final minutes and forced a fantastic low save out of Highland in stoppage time but Hinckley held strong and gained another valuable three points.
