After our game last week was called off due to the storm, Hinckley Leicester Road FC Development returned to Leicester Road Stadium in the first of 3 home fixtures in December.
Charlie Galley made his debut for the club after signing from Dunton & Broughton in the week and he made an instant impact after Oskar Kasperek cut in from the wide right and threaded a pass through to Charlie Galley who rounded the keeper to tap in after 4 minutes against his former club to make it 1-0.
Only a minute later Charlie Galley beat his man wide left, played it inside to Tom Bennett who slid Ruari O’Boyle in first time to the by line. He squared it to Casmir Umeh in the box whose first shot was saved by the keeper and rebounded back to him, but he dragged the 2nd attempt wide of the near post.
Charlie Galley continued his involvement when Ruari O’Boyle delivered a free kick left footed from the wide right and Galley got a flick on past the keeper to make it 2-0 after 11 minutes.
Again, a minute after the goal, Casmir Umeh layed the ball off to Ruari O’Boyle on the edge of the box in the inside left channel, he set the ball and crossed to Oskar Kasperek at the back post but he couldn’t get over the ball and he headed wide.
5 minutes later, Joe Marriot was slid in behind in the inside right channel, he squared to Casmir Umeh who set and buried into the bottom left to make it 3-0 with only 18 minutes gone.
After another 5 minutes we created another chance, when Tom Bennett beat his man in the centre circle and layed it to Ruari O’Boyle wide left. He fed Charlie Galley down the line who cut inside and curled a shot towards goal, but it hit the angle of post and crossbar and went out for a goalkick to deny him a debut hatrick.
Leicester Road soon got their 4th when Scott Worrad sent a ball over the top to Tom Bennett who flicked the ball up and controlled it, he drove forwards, rounded the keeper on the edge of the box and rolled it in for 4-0 with less than half an hour on the clock.
The tempo finally slowed towards the end of the half, but just before half time, Ruari O’Boyle slid Casmir Umeh through, he cut inside but fired wide of the post to go into half time 4-0 up.
Michael Stacey rotated and rested some of the U18’s players in preparation for their game on Monday night, bringing on Harry Mason, Mustafa Nas, Cheikh Hismail and Scott Hardy between half time and the hour mark.
It was Scott Hardy who made an instant impact when Scott Worrad sent a ball over the top to Hardy in behind and he finished bottom left to make it 5-0 only 2 minutes after coming off the bench.
Dunton & Broughton looked to him back when the broke down the wide left and squared into the box, but Spencer Stacey closed down to save at point blank range and keep his clean sheet.
Leicester Road continued to create half chances through the 2nd half, but couldn’t convert anything, until Ruari O’Boyle sent a ball over to Scott Hardy who dinked the ball over the keeper to earn a brace to make it 6-0 with the last kick of the game.
Leicester Road stay 2nd in the league, ahead of Loughborough Students Development who have 2 games in hand and behind Lutterworth Athletic Reserves who we host on Saturday 21st December at 2:00pm.
